Southern Regional Technical College
Moultrie, GA · Post Secondary
A four-semester diploma with published, itemized costs is what Southern Regional offers at its Moultrie and Bainbridge campuses. The Air Conditioning Technology Diploma requires a minimum of 54 semester credit hours, admits students at the start of each semester, and accepts applicants 16 and older with a high school diploma or GED.
Costs are unusually transparent: the college breaks out each term's tuition, fees, and books, totaling $2,712.30 the first term, $1,735.14 the second, $1,703.00 the third, and $1,671.00 the fourth, roughly $7,800 for the full program. Budget a little extra for industry exams: three HVAC Excellence competency exit exams at $15 each and the EPA Section 608 certification exam at $25.
Accreditation comes from HVAC Excellence, which renewed the program for six years as of December 2022. The curriculum combines air conditioning theory with practical application, opening with refrigeration fundamentals and building through courses tied to those exit exams in HVACR electrical, gas heat, and heat pumps, alongside a small general education core in English, math, and either psychology or professional development.
