The curriculum adds customer service and service operations coursework to the standard installation and troubleshooting training.
The Grand Prairie campus houses the country's only TechX advanced training facility, built in partnership with Hussmann, a commercial refrigeration manufacturer. Eligible graduates can apply for additional Hussmann-sponsored training that covers tuition, housing, and transportation. Some instructors hold the Certified Master HVAC Educator credential, a distinction held by only 135 professionals nationwide.
Students prepare to sit for EPA certification testing and are encouraged to pursue further credentials such as Green Mechanical Council certification. Graduates may find entry-level work with HVAC service companies, construction firms, facility maintenance departments, energy companies, or as independent contractors. Coursework covers refrigerant recovery and recycling, electrical and mechanical concepts, indoor air quality, and industry safety standards.
